First you're going to preheat your oven to broil or 500°F.
Then stir packet of yeast and 1/2 Tablespoon of cane sugar into warm water until dissolved. Let is sit for 10 minutes until it activates. You'll know as it will begin to get foamy.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all purpose flour, garlic powder, salt and 1 1/2 Tablespoons of remaining cane sugar. Once all dry ingredients are combined, add the activated yeast and 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Mix until all ingredients are well combined and a dough is formed. If the dough is too sticky to handle, then add a little bit of flour a tablespoon at a time.
Form the dough into a ball and place in the bowl. Cover with a clean hand towel for 30 minutes or until dough doubled in size.
Once dough has risen, take a large baking sheet and line it with parchment paper. Lightly dust the parchment paper with flour.
Lightly dust a clean surface to roll the dough out. Cut the dough in half as this recipe makes two pizzas. Keep one portion of the dough in the bowl covered as you work with the first pizza.
Place the first half of the dough onto the lightly dusted surface. Use a roller to form a 10 inch round pizza. Use your hands to transfer it and spread it onto the parchment paper baking sheet. Form it to your desired thickness while keeping the edges thicker for the crust.
In a small bowl, mix olive oil and italian seasoning. Lightly brush the crust with this oil mixture. Sprinkle more salt and italian seasoning if desired.
Then use a spoon to spread the sauce evenly over the pizza dough. Top with mozzarella and sprinkle with green onions (or other toppings of your choice. I like to add more italian seasoning on top as well.)
Place the baking sheet into the oven and bake for 10 minutes or until golden brown. Repeat the same steps with the second half of the dough while your first pizza is baking. Enjoy!
