All of these are natural remedies, but I encourage you to consult with your doctor before adding some of these remedies if you are pregnant and/or on any other medication.

Here are the five best herbs for stress relief

Ashwagandha

Ashwangandha is known to be a mood elevator. It is native to India and was used to help treat people who suffered from anxiety. In a study in 2012, participants were given 300 mg of ashwagwandha concentrate for 60 days. Within those 2 months, they found that that group exhibited a significant reduction of anxiety. Their cortisol levels had dropped dramatically. Cortisol is the stress hormone that goes up when we are stressed out. Cortisol is more than just the stress hormone, it also creates longer-term fatigue and mental fogginess, and brain structures for emotion and memory when levels are too high. These tests were shared by Psychology Today.

You can get ashwagandha on The Plant Based Palette shop in powder form. I enjoy it every morning by implementing 1/4 tsp into my hot cup of cacao.

Monotropa Uniflora

aka Indian Pipe/Ghost Plant

Monotropa Uniflora also known as Indian Pipe as well as Ghost Plant. There are many names for this rare white flower there are many benefits it provides as well. The most common use of this tincture is to help with physical and emotional pain. The effects monotropa uniflora has it making one feel very calm and present. It is great to take in the evening as it helps support good sleep. The most fascinating way ghost plant has been used is to help people get out of challenging psychedelic journeys with psilocybin or LSD. It helps bring people to a grounded state.

CBD

CBD is a good stress and pain reliever. There have been studies showing that CBD can reduce stress. Study subjects were observed as having lower behavioral signs of anxiety. Their physiological symptoms of anxiety, such as increased heart rate, also improved.

There are so many different ways you can enjoy CBD. I prefer using drops or drinking it.

Turmeric

Turmeric is the ultimate anti-inflammatory. It has been shown to ease depression and elevate mood. This is due to the compound found in turmeric known as curcumin. This bioactive compound has been linked to treating anxiety , depression , and more due to it boosting serotonin and dopamine levels. Research has suggested that it may actually be just as effective as Prozac with far fewer side effects.

You can get your turmeric into your diet by adding it as a spice into your food or making hot teas or beverages. My favorite turmeric beverage is called Golden Milk, think of a creamy chai tea, but a beautiful brightly colored yellow.

I’m a big fan of this brand Curcuma that makes it incredibly easy to make the perfect cup of golden milk with their curcuma paste. Just add hot water + your choice of milk.

Holy Basil

aka Tulsi

Last, but not least, H O L Y B A S I L aka tulsi. Some refer to tulsi as the goddess of the herbs. This herb is known to be the ultimate adaptogen. What an adaptogen basically does is respond to any stress in the body when taken daily. Tulsi has also been shown to counter metabolic stress through normalization of blood glucose, blood pressure and lipid levels, and psychological stress through positive effects on memory and cognitive function and through its anxiolytic and anti-depressant properties.

I enjoy my tulsi through tinctures or by drinking it in tea. I try to end my evenings with a cup of this tulsi tea. These organic indian tulis tea bags make it very fast and convenient to get my daily dose of tulsi.
